Oregon state university capstone project cheap

Oregon state university capstone project cheap capstone helmet need someone to write thesis proposal on same sex marriage please I look back on my education in the gaps in it and because i didn't avail myself to certain kind of opportunities early enough so i had to play catch-up we could do all this on the front end for students now and a very important intellectual resource enduring that is is our library and i don't think we utilize them fully at this point we have to make sure that our libraries are contemporary and that they're utilizing the most recent technology and i'm not saying we should throw back to the past where the library was where it used to be but i think the libraries of repository of knowledge and a source for the dissemination of knowledge and the collection of it remains as important today as it did 100 years ago and the congressman has been sex a strong advocate and supporter of howard university but uh important causes in higher education and in the nation for a long long time 10 years ago the louis stokes health sciences library of howard university opened its doors it was a great moment in july two thousand one and an occasion of even greater significance today in 2011 what makes the 10th anniversary of this library such a special celebration the answer lies in the history and the people who have been a part of howard university for almost a century and a half secrets and remarkable surprises revealed at just the right time mark historical milestones in the story the story begins with the university's founding in 1867 it encapsulates the fervor with which men and women who have dedicated their hearts minds and prayers often making tremendous sacrifices to establish a library building at howard university for the dream to be realized thousands of persons have played a part in this story some of the individuals are famous and include presidents of our country and our university members of Congress and great philanthropist others are unsung heroes students and their parents over the ages librarians and archivists their staffs and technicians senior university officers Board of Trustee members professors and architects builders and other talented artisans great or small the 10th anniversary celebration of the louis stokes health sciences library is a tribute to the mall was there to make the presentation and the idea was that he was not to be aware of it I'd like to take this opportunity to share with Congressman Stokes the following and it was a rendering of the library with his name on it and so it was a lot of fun it was very exciting the secret was that it was going to be named after congressman spokes the president and I talked about it with the executive committee of the board but it was not it was not revealed at all until August at the union club in Cleveland I had said that I wanted the building to have a lot of light and have a lot of glass I taken to the city club and right at the entrance of the city club where these two buildings come together there is a glass area that is where that came from it ended up being like two buildings connected by a glass quarter we ended up with a whole series of designs for the cupola so that one came about and with that came the glass roof entrance that allows you to look through the lobby a couplet both on the outside on the inside of the building that cupola is pretty unique you look at the sheer size of it actually there's a room to the reading room up inside it so it's more like a dome structure than it is a small cupola that's number one number two it's mostly glass at the top there's not a lot of businesses ink dope to the top of it to keep the water out but right beneath it there's just a series of steel pipe column and mostly glass macat the natural light in that was one also at nighttime we wanted to think to really illuminate and shine because I get that part of campus that southern edge of campus this is in the evening there was really no building that kind all the buildings have small little windows there's no building that kind of illuminated itself and in the course is designed this idea of the cupola came up and I forget if it came from a certification which is life committee in talking it through if seem like what a wonderful idea if inside of this thing illuminate so that it would be really a beacon sort of illuminated torch at the end of fifth Street kind of announcing the gateway in the rest of the campus the idea actually has started probably at least 1012 years prior to the commitment and it started with the accreditation committee for the College of Medicine the liaison committee on college education lcome and the committee actually felt in its assessment and accreditation site visits that the library that we were occupying was really inadequate for the health sciences and especially for the College of Medicine the LCM a would like to see us build a health sciences library the university really did something rather unique it went back to the master plan for the university itself and really looked at this structure as connecting the two campuses so to speak the original library which was located between a medical school in the dental school it had a seating capacity of about a hundred and sixty-two it was very very tight very very cramped and particularly during study time with so many medical students dental students pharmacy students graduate students all vying for space we were literally sitting either on top of each other on the floor so we needed a new library space and that became very important that the full expansion of more knowledge particular within the college of medicine and and all the health enterprise is that we're here the space was important and so the library was decided that we needed it and that it could be constructed and the money was now available I do recall that when they were conceptualizing the library there was a community component this was supposed to be open to the community for health education for example whether they could come into the library and actually receive information on various diseases and how to prevent illnesses nutrition access to care but they were certainly in the concept of the library there was a community outreach component the committee was charged with the goal of planning for a stage of the odds health sciences library Learning Resource Center I hope this library will be remembered for the outstanding facility that we have and second time passes and in my capacity as executive director of the library and by working a building on a daily basis I have an opportunity to see the value that the portrait brings to individuals that come and go well I've had a long and productive relationship with Howard University just in my own family I have very close ties to the University but early on when I became a member of the Appropriations Committee and was given the opportunity to serve on the labor Health Human Services and education Subcommittee on Appropriations I've realized that howard university received its funding from the united states congress and that as a historic university whom the congress had set aside after the Civil War special legislation creating it and special legislation funding him I realized that sitting on that subcommittee then made me responsible for doing whatever I could to carry out the historic mission of that university I immediately establish a personal relationship with each of the howard university presidents who would be testifying before our subcommittee i made it my business to talk with their legislative personnel to ascertain what they were attempting to do was kind of funding they need it and then i saw it as my role to try and not only get the funding they need it for their their budget for howard university but wherever I could to be able to increase that budget but as I walked through the library as I do on occasions and I see these young people and I think of the future I think down the line someday this young man for some young lady whom i see there today will be some outstanding health care professional somewhere in the world giving health care and eliminating disparities and making scientific impact perhaps even in the world and it's almost indescribable to be able to save what one feels to have a building in their name and in their honor on the campus of a great university such as Howard well it was really a total surprise to me do my emotional intelligence 2 0 full book pdf
