Do my internet of things yt do my research topics related to stress management teaching tips how to write lesson plans hi everybody Bob of knives town here today we're going to take a look at the m9 bayonet from Ontario knives and this thing is absolutely a beast of a knife it is made to military specs this is the real deal the real military bayonet it fits on the ar-15 a rifle that it also fit the Mossberg 590 a 1i but this is it this is a absolute real-deal bayonet and it is a tough-as-nails so let's take a look at the sheath first of all it opens it's got a ballistic nylon loop here with a snap opens up I'll put the knife to the side for just a second the scabbard is is made of a thermoplastic and nylon and and just the scabbard itself is as tough as iron this thing is absolutely a the toughest scabbard I think I've ever seen it is it it's very functional as far as the attachments go the dangle here like I did show you it has the snap there and then it goes up into a snap lock that separates that way and here we have it connects to a Bianchi bail clip which can be attached to a regular belt or if you've got or it's wide enough to accept the the military webbing belt and it it just has the the wire closures like that closes up closes up tight by just squeezing them in so that it goes into the hooks there and you can you can attach various things to this you help a holster or in this case of course the scabbard it just goes in there absolutely tight there's no way that's coming off it's this is heavy-duty get you a close-up look on that you know makes it so that you don't have to take your gear off to attach the the knife it'll slip in there slip under the under the belt and like I said you can see it opens this way like that real heavy-duty real tight Springs there once once those are closed that's not coming open not at all and you can you can put that on your belt and then and then you just remove attach or remove the scabbard very tight very very solid there ballistic nylon here this the scabbard it it has a there is a you can't see it but there is a flat piece of spring steel that comes down inside the scabbard here so that as the knife is inserted it holds the knife firm up against you know it holds the knife firm against one side so it's not rattling it does have these webbing attachments here to you know to run run belt a belt through there or something this here this this portion this stippling there that is for grip because this scabbard is also a wire cutter down here is the wire cutter and screwdriver that tip right there is a screwdriver and the wire cutter I'll show you that it does mate up with a hole in the knife in the knife blade and that's put together like this and then used in a scissor motion like that as a wire cutter the scabbard is made of thermoplastic and nylon so it's electrically insulated as and the handle is made of the same material so you can cut cut through electrical wire it really does have a powerful scissor effect this this scabbard is really a really fine really fine piece and it's got a great convenience of being able to take it off like that you know I guess so obviously so you can use it as the as the wire cutter but also so that you can attach it without having to remove your gear and this can be attached to any number of you know anything that uses this at this type of attachment here so really good hand if you know anything about Bianchi you know that's a good quality quality piece of gear right there all right the the knife itself let's back up a little there's the knife itself and this knife I'll give you the technical specs on it it does have a seven-inch blade that's made of 420 modified stainless steel now remember it is primarily made as a bayonet and as a thrusting weapon so the 420 modified is a good choice it is a it is a good steel for the field use that this that this knife is made for it is as far as the thickness goes it is almost a quarter of an inch thick it is it's point to three inch thick so just a hair shy of a quarter-inch thick steel there the the weight of the knife itself is one pound the weight of the knife in the scabbard with the whole kit combined is 1 pound 11 ounces all right the blade does have a black oxide coating on it to protect it and of course reduce glare the the bevel begins very far down on the blade and it is a flat grind at the point of the at the point of the first bevel there the primary bevel the secondary bevel then comes in here probably I'd say at around a 30-degree angle and it's not it's not what you would call razor sharp you know as a field knife as a bayonet you probably wouldn't expect it to be I wouldn't it's certainly a decent sharpness but it's and it could be you know you could touch it up if you wanted to make it sharper but it's been made as a as a heavy duty utility field knife and of course obviously bayonet the the swedge that the tip here is on the one side but on the other side it's flat and of course that's to make a scissor effect on the with the wire cutter this is the portion right here that'll be your wire cutter and so it's flat there to make a scissor effect it does have saw teeth on the back and they're they're a little they're kind of fine they're not not the jagged saw teeth that you might expect but those are that's got very much of a file type of a feel to it so that'd do a good job is the m9 made in the USA here's the ring for the muzzle the bayonet goes over the the muzzle of the rifle right through here and then back here there is the the bayonet lug which attaches there's a couple of pieces a spring-loaded clip here and that will that attaches to the bayonet lug on the underside of the rifle so it's the the muzzle comes through here and then there is a lug that deck clips onto holds it right there under the rifle detaches quickly the handle is made of the same material as the scabbard it is a thermoplastic and nylon it does have a very similar look to the to the k-bar USMC and it does it does feel very much the same as that it's very reminiscent of that knife you can get some clothes look up that if that grip there there's your clip for your mouth this is a real heavy duty knife this is the real military issue for civilian use you know most mostly you're going to be using this as just as a general utility knife it is absolutely a beast of time like I said it's heavy duty the knife can go in the scabbard either way it's not it's not specific either way and like I said there's that there's that piece of spring steel that runs in there that's holding the blade secure so there's not any rattling if I can so you don't hear any rattling at all in there that it's a quiet it does have a drain hole on the bottom there to drain out water I did mention the screwdriver also this little that piece right there is a screwdriver very effective tool heavy snap really good really clear all right well thanks for watching I'll see you again do my 5th grade capstone project ideas Lincoln Center campus, Manhattan.
