impact on my life I am yeah I remember I came from the days of the delegates for visa sturdy o'clock in the morning we run until two o'clock in the morning and we'd all be in one room and I'm sort of like a battle drills like we could stick it out the longest to write it out but you know I was really blown away by the opportunity of bringing people from brings two leaders from across the state together to tapesh is that really impacted realizes students and you are so good so powerful now we're sharing that vision sharing that experience and is being stressed will be able to share like what's happening on your campus you know what kind of services are being provided under canvas how can you you other people campuses to make your camps better it's just it's an amazing opportunity and I just mean right away that I needed to get involved here then this is this is where I really wanted to go my energy because if it's especially impact safe federally here this room is so you know I these conversations kept happening and I think that thoughtful discussion is so incredibly important and every year you're going to have different people sitting around the table and have different points of view and perspective I think that's what we really realize that we need to have that conversation but we need to have thoughtful conversations as heading in a direction it's moving forward you know the struggle of the challenge that we have leadership turnover here it is I mean we're basically changing over one hundred percent every years most nonprofit organizations will turn over you know five percent every year and so they have that ability to have that condom and have people there to help Shepherd the salon really bring them into the organization and I think that's one of the biggest challenges that we have as an association is having transition and having Mike unified vision so that we can continue to move forward instead of moving sideways which is something that I really realized you're taking a lot of side steps you know Lu's new leadership would come in and you're like all these really great ideas that don't ever have before I was my most important but you know what is the matter of fact is there's been a lot of great ideas I've been circulating for a long time that's something that I really switch here you know when I'm after two chairs like you know I wanted to be meaningful I wanted to be something something that says something about our organization we were in a place we're ready to move for it I was like you know we don't always that is staff we shift staff positions and it's like all of this effort of I think we were just ready you're ready for the next thing to know what it was and so I had conversations with current student leaders whose former student leaders a lot of a mom that was like you know if you go back with it again if you go back and do it again and change something what would you do how would you do differently what was that you wanted to accomplish that year that you want people to do and you only found is that there were lies means people can you know kept coming up coming around with the same things I was a killer there's something here there's something here and we need to develop a document that flex everything they want to do and and be able to create that roadmap because you know a risky step aside with and what if what I really enjoyed about the process was just how flowers with us you know we really were mindful process establish revolves to be as involved new students were involved a lot of one more involved and it was it was good process and so we were able to start captured all of those pieces that kind of hanging out there you know that's a little didn't thinking about for a long time and put it in in documents that were actually be able to take tangible steps towards and what's I guess what the challenges and but chance to be talking about maybe this wasn't the first time that excuse me trying to ask you to plan now it's happened before where we got together like right I've gotta put this down a fever a real picture we got to see what we want to be in the future but if all you do is create the picture it's going to have pretty sunset in the future the place that you want to go you wanna be sitting on but just gonna sit on the wall you're just going to look at it get it fate the roadmap gotta get your car you can t truck it's the only where you're going to get there if you don't have a row you don't know where you're going your domain in there just give me it's a pretty
