important and it is my top 5 tips that I think any beginner to the gym or any beginner on their fitness journey absolutely just just can't live without disregarding everything um now are these the only five tips to take into consideration no there's there's dozens and dozens of things to take into consideration before starting a fitness journey but these five things in my opinion are like the top five that I've personally use that I've learned throughout the years on my fitness journey so that's basically what today is going to be about um just a little quick tip about me caes I don't think I'm just some random girl on YouTube like telling you how to live your life I am an exercise science student at Southeastern Louisiana University I am going to be senior this summer's thank the Lord good like oh I just can't wait but I am studying exercise science and this year I am going to be working on getting my personal training certification from a CSM as well as nasm and I will link those websites below so you guys can check it out and know what I'm talking about so yeah let's just go ahead and get started on my top five things that I would tell any beginner to the gym or to any fitness journey alright so number one that I think is probably the most important thing that you to think about before going sign up to any gym or buying any sort of workout plan anything like that is first sit down for just a couple minutes and really analyze why is it that say you've made it your new year's resolution for 2015 you know it's beginning of January and a lot of people you know a lot of people their new year's resolution is getting into the gym and you know losing weight so number one sit down for just a couple of minutes with a notebook and just say why is it that I once go to the gym this year you know right down why you haven't been going because that is really important to know what has kept you out of the gym and you know has that chain as the reason why you haven't been going changed have you taken care of that because if you haven't well what's how are you going to overcome that and why do you want to go all of a sudden you know do you have a really good reason for wanting to start a fitness journey is it because you just want to fit into a smaller size jeans on do you want to look better what is it what is it that really is different this time around that strong enough to overcome why you haven't been going and along with that you really need to make how was it you really need to make a deep connection with yourself and this time around have a reason that is strong enough to where no matter what you will stay committed to this fitness journey and going to the gym is your reason strong enough to keep you going so number one analyze why it is you want to go to the gym number two all right so now you've got your reasons you know that this is definitely what you want to do you sat down and analyzed number two is make the commitment do it don't don't get lazy this time around because you know it's 2015 you know say for example you're 30 years old and this goes for men and women and young men young women people of all ages shapes sizes both genders you know if saying for example you're 30 years old and you're just starting to go to the gym make the commitment to yourself you know like why haven't you been going for the past I don't know say ten years so this time around really say to yourself I am going to do this I haven't done it for my entire life for whatever reason did you analyze and step one step two make the commitment to yourself number three that I think that sometimes people kind of overlook this but I feel I know when I was a beginner to the gym and I was just starting my own fitness journey um make sure you pick the right gym for you if you are wanting you to come a bodybuilder you know that is a pretty big goal pick a gym that's gonna have the necessary things that you need in order to achieve your results if you don't want to do something that's that drastic you kind of just want to stay in general good health which is so really good you might want to pick a smaller facility that doesn't it's not huge um and also take into consideration the cost of the gym or the facility that you're going to you know how much what is the budget that you have that you can invest into yourself you know if you can only afford about 30 40 bucks a month a place like any time fitness is perfect for you because honestly for about forty dollars a month the the gym has a lot to offer you know it got the cardio equipment it's got a decent amount of weight lifting equipment and it's perfect for any beginner um that doesn't have too much money to invest into a gym membership now if you want something that comes with a lot of amenities you know pool saunas tanning things like that that's going to cost you a little bit more months so you have to really step back and think is that what I really need you know is that going to keep me motivated or really need something that expensive you know take that in consideration so step three is pick the right gym / facility that suits your needs number four is something that I actually learned when I was in beauty school and it is start with the end result in mind and that is something that can be long term as well as day to day so let's start out with day-to-day say it's your first day the gym start with your end result in mind for that day say by the end of this workout I want to have burned 150 calories well if you start with that in mind then you'll keep saying okay you do cardio I'm in 100 calories i got fifty calories to go I can't stop until i reach that goal and if you start small like that with small results in mind every day eventually your your long-term result that you started your fitness journey with saying i want to lose a total of twenty-five pounds or say i want to put on ten pounds of muscle if you do if you start each day small and with the end result for that day in mind I promise you it will make the long-term result is so much easier for is start with the end result in mind now that you you know you've gone through step wonder for you sat down analyze why you want to go to the gym you you decided you really want to make that commitment to yourself you've got the right gym picked out it's going to its fits into your budget you know what results you want to end with you're going to start your fitness journey out saying this is my result diet diet you guys what are you eating because yeah you may be pumped up you may have those brand new gym clothes you've got your gym buddy but if you're not eating properly yes you will definitely see some small results or just going to the gym will be nowhere near the awesome results that you'll get if you start and you change your diet with that as well um I feel like a lot of people they they just forget this part they just think oh I'm going to go get a gym membership it's you know it's January first time to go sign up but then their diet is exactly the same has been for the last five years or for all the 2014 you know so make sure that you take into consideration changing your eating habits so number five that you don't want to forget when starting your fitness journey is remember clean eating your diet I will see you guys next time in my next
