Snhu experience capstone experience abroad for money do my how to write a capstone essay contoh report entrepreneurship books back to the old grind woohoo so in October of 2016 I had auditioned for New York Film Academy for the two-year conservatory musical theater program and I wanted to share my experience a little bit about that because at the time when I was auditioning I actually looked for videos to prepare myself because I had no idea what to expect and I couldn't find any so I wanted to make a video of my experience that way if you're auditioning for it you know what to expect so my audition was at 12 o'clock around there I can't exactly remember the time but it was presumably 12 o'clock and I showed up at 10 a.m. I showed up two hours early to an audition I don't know why I stopped there for a good two hours preparing myself for an audition which I again had no idea what was to be expected so in my bag I had a fruit cup I had two bottles of water my sheet music and that was it you don't really want to bring anything in so upon entering the school I was actually uh sure upstairs to where the school starts because the school is in a building in that conjoined with other things but they contain like three floors I believe of said building so I arrived two hours early I check in and I already I'm also there for an open house that day to keep in mind so I signed up for the open house and I sign it for my audition so I go and sit down and I wait and then about 30 minutes in a person comes over to me and they're like hey have you warmed up today and I was like I sure did and they're like do you want to warm up some more and I was like I sure do so I go into the room it's your standard in New York City perfect music room and so I do little scales and then I go into my songs just to make sure my voice is still with me that day that I'll be able to do the audition and then my lady walks into the room and I immediately I'm like okay audition time once let's do this and she says what class are you in right now and I was like none I'm here for an audition and she was like oh um well I have to do singing lessons in here so I'm going to have to ask you to leave and I was like oh okay yeah that's no problem and she's like good luck and I was like thanks so I left and then I escorted myself back to my parents so I make my way back and another 30 minutes pass I'm just sitting there like really collecting myself at that point and the same guy who offered me to the room comes back he's like oh there you are I can find you it was like yeah it's no problem I'm right here he's like okay so your auditions gonna be in about 30 minutes which was 30 minutes before 12:00 so the audition was actually early which is why you should get there early maybe not two hours early but get there I'm gonna say an hour early most definitely so they assured me into the room for my actual audition and I walk in and it's a pretty huge room there was three people sitting at the table um they were all like heads of departments and they had a camera angled out to you and the piano player was sitting to the side oh also the room to the left is all see-through it's all glass so while you're doing your audition people can see you but they possibly can't hear you I never really got to know if people could hear me but they definitely can see you audition so the first thing I did walking into the room is I went over to the piano player and go to my music and said okay this is kind of how this goes not snapping or anything I kind of just sang a little bit of my songs and then I walked over to the three judges and I gave them my headshot my resume that doesn't songs I'd be doing and we got right ready so I said corner this guy first as my up-tempo and went through that got really nervous cuz at that time my voice wasn't perfectly trained as I wanted it to be so I remember I totally got off time at one part sounds like all right I'm gonna just smile through it and keep going which was all you got to do just keep smiling go through it and you'll be good after that I did young and foolish has my valid and that one I had fun with but again with a high note in that I was nervous that my voice was gonna crack so I did laughing in the rain I wish I didn't do that but it worked and they weren't mad about it but I should have belted it so I do my monologue and I did I forgot the name of it but it was like before you punished me something and it was about a girl but whatever so I did that and at the end of that they kind of they made me do corner this guy again and they said re um that was good but we felt you did it more like a recital and not as you would on stage so they wanted me to kind of like act it out again and then they made me take corner of the sky and sing it like a valid and slowed it down so I could get more emotion to it and yeah my voice cracked and they were like nope that's fine because we can work with that but what we can't work with is someone who's not workable what they're saying basically is if you can sing that's great and they want obviously here you can be able to sing at least something but what they mainly want to see is that they can work with you see I finish that and then I go up to the camera and they do an interview and the camera is like right here to you so it's kind of a it's a little intimidating but they ask you questions like oh what's your experience with TV before have you done theater outside of high school so that that's essentially the whole experience of is after that I was done and then I did the open house so what you basically want to bring with you that day is something you can snack just to keep up the weight because you never know um they do have a little shop on the first floor of the building but still bring like fruit or something like I did bring water tons of water you can never have enough water when you're going into an audition and you need a binder with your sheet music in it and your monologue if you want to go over a few more times before your audition and bring a headshot and resume they were so surprised when I handed that to them they were like oh you don't really need this but it's nice that you have one so it kind of sets you apart from other people and it'll help you get into the school the school is expensive and unfortunately I will not be going there but I was accepted I did get a scholarship but it still was too expensive the school by itself is roughly seventy thousand dollars for two years and that does not include room and board and you're not allowed to work while you're at the school so being able to pay for college tuition that way is extremely difficult and it's not suitable especially in theatre where it's a chance of a job is so minimal and even when you get a job you're not being paid a lot so it's something to think about definitely but I just want to share my experience with you guys so you knew what to prepare for and expect oh yeah that was my experience auditioning for New York Film Academy it was the only musical theatre audition I've ever done in my life other than that I'm not really going for musical theater anymore I'm pursuing it on the side more so I just wanted to do that with you guys I hope you guys enjoyed and if you audition for New York Film Academy let me know how it went in the comments section below or if you're planning on auditioning let me know that too and we can talk if you're nervous and things out so yeah bye [Music] Oh capstone team
