Excel volume 1 ch 1 3 grader project capstone order capstone logistics anchorage maram oru varam essaytyper hey welcome to the latest installment of Phoenix Sterling's live you may have seen us take a couple shots at this we're gonna record it now that we're gonna put it up on our social media after this but just really quick again this is the Mersey gilbert pediatric rehabilitation center the new one in the East Valley we're gonna take a walk through it we're gonna meet a couple people inside and I give you a tour of what it looks like all right so come on with me so if you're driving out here it's on the campus of mercy gilbert Medical Center it's not in the Mercy Giller Medical Center 34:20 mercy Road so just wanted to make sure you guys do that come on over here with you so we're in Suite 121 they'll be getting on your signage today but today is Grand Opening Day and you'll see we're still getting some things put away so the first thing you're going to see in here is the waiting area this is the waiting area where you we do your check-in and if someone that's gonna help us do that tour today hello thanks Peter this is Christina are you her manager of rehabilitation services for outpatient and Chris you're gonna take us around and show us a little bit and tell us of what we have here and what we have to offer you right sounds great all right let's go welcome to our new clinic today just getting settled in so you watch through the waiting room you came through the scheduling area patient counseling or private cruise there and now we're in the main gym area you can see we have the rubberized floor mat tables Mears all the way around almost lots of equipment lined up here we have a recumbent bike we have a moto med for upper and lower extremity arms and legs upright bike we have the light gate which can suspend the patient from the harness to decrease their their weight bearing as they learn to walk on the treadmill and then we have a regular treadmill in the middle there we have the bits by bionis it's for interactive therapeutic video game type of activities and we have the that's the steamroller behind the stairs here kids cut off on the ladder you can roll down the Rolly foam pads here we have a fully weight system right here will be where our parallel bars will go which we get to have delivered so we're still working on some things to get moved in here so we can we have these three different swings in different locations and different to swing out for eyes we can attach depending on what sort of therapeutic thing we're trying to achieve we have four different climbing activities that's our Jim Mary see we have a lot of floor space for different ambulation activities around the stairs the staircase so if you like will continue down the hallway pardon our mess here we're still moving in just took delivery from what we're moving from our East Valley location so our East Valley clinicians saw patients right up until the very end on Friday so that's all we can move anything until today so here we have five the room that we're most proud of it's not about anyone else who really has one this is the sensory room come on in have a look around we have the bubble tube in the corner with the mirrors that makes it look like there's multiple ones we have stargazing background and here we have the fiber-optic jellyfish different colors as you can see and a projection of different aquatic scenes and [Music] get a better look at our bubble - but it changes colors as well this is uh this is one of those things where you I think we should be did a video of this oh yeah you throw this sudden kind of changes the colors of all the tubes that's pretty amazing yeah yeah yeah what is that right there that's our it's a hopscotch device so as the child steps on the different colored squares the same color registers up on the wall there's a number of different kinds of therapies that can be customized with this particular machine right oh yeah yeah yeah PT ot the balls Watson is with it even speech as well with cognitive activities yeah so this is the sensory room this is the center all right in addition to the sensory room we have some other prior to treatment rows that could accommodate different activities this is one of the larger sized ones again has a swing other another roller type of play apparatus large balance board many smaller balance boards as well now the other treatment rooms along this hallway are mostly used for speech and feeding because as I said we have physical therapy occupational therapy speech therapy along with fever therapy that are all done here and that's mostly what these rooms are used for I'll take you out this hallway I get more private treatment rooms mostly used for feeding its but they can be utilized by anyway up in our last treatment room this is where our RT 300 will be as you can see we just took delivery it's still in a box we have to get it out and have it assembled but the RT 300 is a very exciting piece of equipment it's functional electrical stimulation or neuromuscular we educational retraining for patients that have some loss of use of muscles whether it's due the neurologic or the muscle itself this helps activate those muscles while they're either using their their arms to pedal or their legs to pedal as well so it's all sort of like a blank in a way correct it's like a bike for both the upper extremity the arms and the legs as well right so it can treat a problems we're also the only ones in the valley that has the pediatric version of this there's a couple others having adult but we're the only ones with the pediatric version of the RT 300 silver very excited to be able to offer that there is the best piece of equipment out here to the patient population will be seen so let's talk about that population real quick when we say pediatric who is the typical patients that we have here I mean I think Elizabeth was on the news this morning and she talked about kind of a pretty wide gamut it's a very wide range of patients that we're able to treat we will be able to treat everything from infants coming home being discharged from the NICU all the way up to your high school athletes who had zero to 18 correct okay so and then the other thing is a convenience factor a lot of these families that were coming here now had to regionally go to Thomas campus right right so they're gonna be saving quite a bit of time that way yeah you're looking at to get down there it's up to an hour drive it's not longer for some people do any where they were living so now we're virtually right in the backyard and we foresee having a large population lead our services now and continue into the future yeah so we're very happy to be able to offer all the services we do to help the kids in the community right yeah well thanks for walking us through we appreciate it so here's the main thing with this is if you have questions don't forget you can always put them in the comment section we'll get back to as soon as we can but main thing is is that we have rehab services in the East Valley now and you know if you want to check it out give us a call or check us out online you know leave us comments leave us questions and we'll get back to as soon as we can so hopefully enjoy the tour so are we had a couple little glitches there but hopefully you were able to enjoy the tour afterwards have a good one and we'll see you in the next Phoenix Childers live take it easy guys do my capstone class high school Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
