Do my paper presentation on green engine technology phds in business and management hot research topics for money text analysis essays yeah so so well it's a freezing morning I guess for you all of you here in this room we apologize for that but a very warm welcome nevertheless to to ICTs the effort the most of you probably are here for the first time and to Banglore some of you and to India so so I I won't take very long now I won't keep you from your academic program but since probably most of you are new I thought I would give I would take this occasion to give you a small overview so well today many of you may not realize is a it's a sort of a landmark day in our Institute so it's a sort of a milestone because this is the first program we are having in our campus over here we'll the first full-fledged program and we are very happy to have all of you participate in this and in a sense all of you are guinea pigs I am sorry to say but so please excuse us for all the glitches and little hassles you might face in this but we'll try our best to sort of smoothing things out for you but so the campus as you can see is still by much work in progress but but we thought we should just get moving and so so even though everything is not yet done we hope the basic facilities are in place and you will be able to concentrate on your academics so so let me tell you a little bit about ICT STI far it's a new center in India and in the Indian context so it was actually established in 2007 and in fact spent awadhi are the founding director will will address all of you on the 14th and tell you a little bit about the history and the development of the center but I'll just be very brief in just telling you what the sort of the core mandates of the Institut are so we see ourselves in a sense as an enabling center for scientific research all over India to sort of take it to a to a next plane to a sort of a higher plane and specifically in the basic sciences and mathematics so how well so one is through these programs like the one you're in and so we aim to have a series of continuous sort of series of high quality visitor driven programs of varying durations we hope that the duration will eventually be several weeks and and a few months maybe so the idea is to bring together the best researchers in India and abroad and and as we are going to do here should sort of share knowledge collaborate and and hopefully come up with new ideas so so we that's one of our mandates we also have an in-house research faculty a small but very sort of a high quality research faculty in various disciplines in the theoretical sciences they sort of overlap in interests so the faculty we have have sort of their core strengths but but one of the things we look for is that they should be sort of intellectually open minded and looking across disciplines and finally the third core mandate is outreach and which especially in India is very important in being able to communicate to the general public excitement of scientific research and you're having we're having fun offs public lecture in that spirit we also we also have been partnering with organizations involved in science education and we hope this involvement will only increase now that our campuses hear a few more words about the in-house research so we have about a dozen or so faculty and visitors postdoctoral fellows and graduate students we've just we've started a graduate program in physics about two three years ago and from this year we will start one in mathematics the various research areas here are Astrophysical relativity at the moment primarily in gravitational waves data assimilation big data and dynamical systems statistical mechanics and condensed matter physics string theory quantum field theory and quantum gravity biophysics interdisciplinary mathematics so so these are the areas over here and we hope to expand in the future into other areas as well about the ICTs programs which I mentioned well the we the way we envisage it we would like to have programs having sort of three components the first which you are going to kick off right now with pedagogical lectures and we so the idea of an enabling center is that we have a place where people can come junior researchers can come and get exposed to new areas from from people who are experts in it and also for people who want to enter a new area often the barrier is very high but if you have sort of a program where there's a basic set of lectures which can give a person an easy introduction to an area the second component is a sort of a discussion component which will enable the researchers to sort of to more informally talk with each other I mean putting them in close proximity hopefully to encourage collaborations so that's that's the second and then finally there finally the third component is a sort of a is a conference so this has been the format that there have been these different components to the programs and and as prithi also mentioned me very much would encourage the students and postdocs especially to be participate in it in a very active way we would like to see that programs incubate new areas of research and in many ways even though despite the name we would like at the centre to have a be a place where experiment meets theory so so these are the things we sort of hope to have so even though this is the first program in a campus ICTs has organised hundred and one programs or so but they have been sort of spread out in different centres and we've had about 5,000 participants with a large share of them from outside so living up to the name of an International Centre and I I believe this has had a substantial impact and the indian science scene we also have sort of named lecture series in the physical sciences after subramanyam's and shaker and mathematics after Ramanujan and in biology computer science after Allen curing so we've had several of these they they they they are on they are delivered by very eminent academicians who will focus on some particular exciting topic and give us sort of a small mini course of lectures so so this is the campus how it will be hopefully yeah so you can sort of probably see the skeleton of it now but but we hope it'll be a much greener and a nicer place but you the the plus side for you is that you can you can have a sort of a before and after look when you come here hopefully a few years later we'll have a lot of facilities on the campus not all of which are operationally at library and it's a very very big data center with high-speed computing and conference and lecture halls like these and then healthcare childcare recreational facilities etc so so since the public lecture is on big data I thought I would mention that one of the major thrusts is to provide adequate support for big data science and and we have a high performance cluster so so I onto your workshop and I would like to thank at the very end the organizers for sort of having faith in us and sort of I think they were in for a little bit of a shock when they came a couple of months ago and saw this the state of the this thing but but at Labor Day they had faith in us and the institution's iinn CRE have have jointly organized this I mean through members and finally to really get this all operational the ICTs staff and the members of the construction team have really been sort of working almost till the last minute to get it all operationally enough continuing to work to get things better as the conference goes along but feel free to give your feedbacks I mean we we really would like to have a very good environment for for academics or anything that you think might help to enhance that please feel free to contact me or other people Avinash our Dean has been sort of really in getting all this working so he I'm sure he will appreciate any comments and feedback and so finally anyway I have an exciting time man your meeting and all the best capstone logistics mcdonough ga address for money New York Chiropractic College, Seneca Falls.
