Do my onenote set default page color write for me capsim practice round 2 answers sturgeon bay utilities scholarship essays hello everybody this is maca maca dizzle hear back for another video another one alright so today I have pledged to report to you what happened with my Ivy League applications and admissions yesterday so what happened was I got rejected from all three it actually didn't bother me that much because you know what as I said before I really like Georgia Tech and I found out the other day that I got a pretty juicy financial aid package like seventeen thousand dollars for the whole year so that's pretty swell so we should be okay and I also have wait lists appending on like Williams College amherst college and Colby College and if one of those come through i may go there instead but Georgia Tech is also a really great school course so yeah so this video is reflections on my rejection from the Ivy League and I think besides the fact that their sheer numbers have like thirty nine thousand applications in the case of Harvard and they admit less than 2,000 besides that I think that one of the things that sort of knocked me out of the applicant pool was as I talked about before I'm struggling with physics especially at the beginning of this year I'd like a C+ or B minus for the first trimester that I had two reports to Harvard and like most of my other schools so that I think that played into it quite a bit I think if I had taken another science like environmental science so I would have done better thing would have been easier for me because physics is math and I like math but it's not the same thing like it's so hard because it's applied math and it's different you don't even know what formulas to use at least I don't Oh one at a time and that just really makes it difficult um but the thing is I took AP physics because I needed to take that instead of environmental science to make it work with my schedule because I wanted to be in this acting class and I want I wanted to be in it for years and it's really fun it's like the most advanced acting class in our school and we all know each other pretty well because we've done theater here for years and we we joke around a lot our director is really sarcastic and likes to joke around so it's a lot of fun and so I don't regret that I took ap physics even though I really hate it probably never going to take physics again to be honest but I think that it's not that big a deal that I got rejected from the Ivy League even if it was because of that because as i said i have i've had a really good time that acting class so I don't regret taking the acting class and as a result not being able to take AP environmental science although I probably would have gotten an A in that I mean and had a better shot at the Ivy League so what I'm saying is that I don't think that we should base our all of our decisions on what classes we take whatever on getting into a good school like our whole life up until or like 18 years old like I am I don't think it should be about getting into the vet school and I don't think like when you're 22 and looking at graduate schools if you're going to do that or job I don't think it should be all about taking the best classes or whatever for your job the job you want to have or the graduate school you want to go to I think that you should take what you want for your experience while you're still at the previous institution the high school or the college and I think that it's more important to stay true to yourself and that a than to take a bunch of classes you don't like because you think a lot better chances or you know what I'm saying like what I did something like that and that's one of my main reflections on what I mean my whole time at this school has been really great it tells me grow a ton because there are people from all different backgrounds of nationality and brace and stuff like that and I've learned so much from other people here people here are driven smart motivated to do great things and its really helped me a lot it's helped me to sort of gain confidence within myself and now I'm doing this so this is helping me too and this girl has really shown me what I'm capable of as far as academically socially and stuff like that so that's been really awesome for me and so yeah I think those those are pretty much all my reflections um I haven't told you guys but I actually did a summer school program at Harvard last summer and I really did enjoy Harvard although I took physics there too that was the first time I took physics and I didn't like it there either so that's why I didn't want to take physics this year but then that other stuff happened but I mean then I can went to Georgia Tech and I really liked it too so don't be so set on one thing I think that goes for a lot of different things in life but especially for schools don't be so set on one school that you don't open your minds to others because you might go to one school and you think you really really like it but then you you just think that that one is my just thing that that one is perfect that there's no better option just because you like it so much but in fact you might find something better like I actually thought that the atmosphere at Georgia Tech was a little more friendly than it was at Harvard and certainly more friendly than it was at Mi t and which is why I liked it better than that so you know I'll be fine don't worry about me but I think the message here is that also it's I've read about this kind of thing before where of course not everybody who's famous or successful or does what they want to do in life gets into the best schools it's never truly about what institution you are going to that is not what ultimately determines your success and happiness and life it is about what you do no external decision that other people make based on their judgments about you their feelings thoughts whatever they never really determine your future you do so you can do whatever you want regardless of what college that you go to and be successful that being said it might be a little more difficult if you don't go to a really good school but you can still do it and so you'll never lose sight of that number lose sight of the fact that you can do whatever you want even if you don't get into your dream school or whatever so yeah those are my reflections and Princeton Dartmouth I never even visited them I mean they seem really great too but never visited so and I don't really know like I don't really know what the atmosphere is like I'm there like I've been talking about with Georgia Tech and harbor and stuff and so I don't really have a full a full perspective on what they're actually like so I mean time good I didn't I didn't even cry when I got those exams is I just kind of I just kind of like 1x1 rejection good too all right good and then when I got Harvard the last one I just kind of nodded my head like all right and then now we're moving on so yeah that's pretty much it guys um hope you enjoyed this little video and if you like it then like the video and subscribe for more if you haven't
