Do my does onenote have lined paper do my capstone insurance agency midland tx thank you note after meeting fashion intensive patient by Steve honest committed consistent enthusiastic loyal caring competitive Robin Princeton head women's basketball coach at the University of Missouri I'm really blessed with just an amazing has been rich he's certainly been my rock over the years you know I think in this profession with the time demands that you have on your schedule early morning late nights with the travel recruiting it's just it's really hard it's very challenging but I've got a husband that's extremely supportive I think he's my biggest fan he is so supportive on so many different levels we have two sons Blake who is seven he thinks he's going on 17 but he is seven and Zach who just turned two in July and probably been the biggest blessing in our lives and you know family is very very important to all of us and a chance to see you know and be a part of their growing up years and a chance to see a smile on their face when we wake up and to be able to spend that family time together when we go to bed in this profession as you know we don't get a lot of free time and it really makes it hard to find that quality time with your family but it's something that very is very important to us and so when we do get an opportunity we really take advantage of it as a family we certainly enjoy going down to the lake we love boating sit outside and have campfires on the weekends when time allows you know there's nothing more precious to me than than that family time I first knew her obviously as a senior in high school um honestly wasn't even considering going to sing Ambrose and wanted to play two sports and not Kineo I still remember sitting in her office when I want Marion visit and just how amazing she was listened to and just passionate and intense and everything that she said and her track record as a player and a coach at Ambrose just completely sold me and everything that she said to me that day happened during my career an opportunity to come down and visit with the administration about the opening they had at Missouri it was really hard because I loved where I was at and we had built something that was really special put in a lot of years of work to get to the point where where you're at but I I was intrigued by the position that was open here and they came down and certainly fell in love with the community it just seemed like a community that was very involved in the University of Missouri and their athletic programs it's a beautiful college town there's a lot going on it's about door community a lot of excitement in this area in this state people believe black and gold and all that was really exciting for me but it had to be bigger than that but until I had a chance to sit down with Mike all day and really talk about his core values and what his mission was and what his vision was for this athletic department I think that was really the final drawing card that said you know what I want to be a part of it I've known Robin Princeton for over 20 years I mean obviously being married to her sister and one of the things that makes me feel so blessed to be a part of our staff that I've seen the growth in her over the course of that 20 years so I had the opportunity to be here and learn from her watch how she handles the highs and the lows that come with this job to watch her just be steady it's been a real education I'm really blessed and I was up most respect for her after graduating from college I had an opportunity at the age of 21 to go overseas and play professionally or get involved in coaching as an assistant coach at Drake University where my former head coach just took a job and it was a great opportunity and too good to pass up on and so I went with her for two years at Drake University kind of learning the ropes that are standing what you know the transition from being a player to a coast is all about wasn't always easy but had an opportunity to learn a lot of things that in a short period of time and because of that success that we had I had an opportunity to go back and be the head coach at my alma mater st. Ambrose which was been na school and it was a great opportunity for me but a very challenging one at the same time and absolutely loved it was there for seven to eight years and loved it had a chance to coach some great young ladies had a lot of success competed for championship and because of its obscure that we had an opportunity to go and be the associate head coach for bill family at Iowa State and as really fortunate at that opportunity I wasn't looking but we did have a mutual friend and you know I remember he said hey Robin you gotta take a look at there's an opening at Iowa State and Bill family's a great guy he's built that program the right way and you have a chance to be a part of something special everything that she was still in us as a player we've been able to carry over into life and they'll take it with and I just think that's the first and foremost thing about her and it was an experience I would never trade and just so blessed and fortunate for because it's brought me to the position I'm at today my goals are to win a national championship to compete for championships but we don't talk about that a lot in this program I believe winning is a byproduct of doing things the right way day after day after day it's all about the foundation you like the characteristics and the values that you have in your program certainly I'm as competitive as they come you can ask anybody that's ever crossed paths with me I'm a competitor and I demand excellence first and foremost for myself and then everybody that's around that I'm surrounded by but at the end of the day when it's all said and done it's so much bigger than the win-loss column and a scoreboard it's about having a chance to impact people's lives and truly make a difference and I'll never sway from that that truly comes down to relationships and the opportunity to build relationships with our players and help prepare them to be successful in life and to see them grow coming into our program as young girls young ladies and drove into women are gonna be very successful in their careers and in a personal life as they leave the University of Missouri my parents always told me if you find something that you really like and you really love you won't work in your life so that's kind of what it's like in terms of working with Coach P joy to be around but also a great leader has great passion for the game that does great mentoring as well I absolutely love like staff I could talk about my staff all day you talk about a family we live it every day we lock arms our vision the values that we have for this program they align to a key and I've got a group of people that I'm surrounded by that I'm blessed to be able to work with every day they're very driven they're very competitive just like I am at the end of the day it's so much bigger than winning for them as well it's about impacting lives and part of impacting lives is teaching kids how to be successful on the court in the classroom and their personal lives as a player you come into a collegiate program and you want to be challenged you want to be the absolute best that you can be I believe we've got a staff that has the ability to take our players games to that next level to help them think creatively to push them outside their comfort zone to challenge them in ways they have not been changed before and to really help grow their game individually and collectively to be surrounded by the type of family that I am with rich and our two kids and you know even extended beyond that with our staff and the players here at the University of Missouri it's really made for a very fun and rewarding journey as we continue to lay the foundation for our program set default paper size onenote SUNY College of Optometry.
