Cahill for an introduction Thank You mr. speaker as you know or anybody who's had the pleasure to walk through the well of the legislative office building today once again we are celebrating turkish-american day here Turkish cultural centers from all over New York State have pooled their resources to make sure that all of our colleagues can be exposed to Turkish culture and maybe more important to some of us turkish food but we are also here today to do an exchange of of a more significant long-lasting nature and that has to do with commerce between the people of New York the people of the United States the people of Turkey and those who are of Turkish descent and origin who now do business here in the United States and I'd like to take a moment to introduce a group of those business people mr. speaker these business members are part of the Turkish American business improvement and development council a self-supporting non-for-profit not-for-profit organization in New York founded by a group of businessmen and professionals to facilitate commerce between the United States and Turkey and to establish partnerships between the business people of both nations their mission is to promote social and economic relations between Turkey in the United States while providing the members with a broad spectrum of services and new opportunities to the Turkish and American business folks with regard to trade industry agriculture construction mining non-government organizations manufacturing professional activities and other related activity Mr Speaker we have over 20 members of this delegation present today and if they would please rise I will spare you my mangling of everybody's name but ask that you extend the courtesies of the house to this fine and exemplary organization of people who are reaching across not just the aisle as we frequently do here but across the ocean to create a shared humanity and help create new business opportunities for one at all gladly mr. Cahill brought for our friends from Turkey business men and women who are making an impact with the members of this house and the people of the United States they are exceptional business people who reached out to us with the olive branch to foster new relationships for business some of the United States largest companies including Ford coca-cola hewlett-packard to name just a few have flourished in Turkey and have used it as a base for distribution and sales to both Europe and to Asia they bring with them a wealth of culture and so much wonderful information and in terms of the United States government it's important that New Yorkers and Americans learned what a great friend Turkey has been to the US for decades for decades the largest international military base that the United States has has been located in Turkey so from a strategic standpoint from an economic standpoint and from a joining of friends to learn up the great culture history like the incredible city of Ephesus the wonders of Bursa that list goes on and on it's an incredible place not only to visit but to partner with good people and a very special culture and I join with mr. Cahill and all of my colleagues and asking you to welcome them and to extend to them the courtesies not only of this house but of the people of New York State gladly mr. Saladino mr. Cahill I think that you're both on the same footing I think that they should be speaking to the next Commissioner of labor who I'm sure has some great ideas as to stuff that they can do together so I'm sure that you will be making the appropriate introductions am I correct on behalf of mr.
