Capstone ski centre write for me capstone 2 in 1 led night light power failure tony jordan traffic reporter hi Henry Joan and I'm here live here in Kingsbridge in Jerome Avenue I'm here with Randy Avril who's running for 14 district City Council and we're here and I wanted to come here stop by I seen him the last time in the last forum what we had it was great one of the members was missing the incumbent Fernando Cabrera he promised he's going to be in the next time but Randy thank you for inviting me here I see this organization that you have here you have a lot of people working with you getting young people how you doing Marie I'm doing well and thanks so much for coming here thanks for coming to our office and checking it out and meeting the team see what we're all about and how we're going to do this moving forward okay I'm happy here because this is my home area I've been going to different forums and I love this area because it's my home area so it's very touching to me I know a lot of folks are going to be voting some say they don't want to come out and vote why Randy are you the best candidate knowing that they already have an incumbent whose name is for an undercover why are you the best guy at the Kennedy well I appreciate you saying that first part because this is also my home born and raised right here Fordham Road and Sedgwick Avenue and to me is I feel blessed to be at this point in my life right now I'm an attorney and just finished working at the with the Obama administration and I look at my home I look at our Bronx and I think what half are we taking moving forward where will we be in the next four years and I don't think we're on the path where we can live our best lives it was important for me to come back bring everything I've learned give it back to the community because I'm committed to this and I'm committed to seeing a succeed social mobility economic growth and actually having the public education that our kids deserve let me ask you I've been to a couple of the forums already and right now the New York State Governor Cuomo has declared a state of emergency for the MTA in my opinion I'm talking to other candidates they should declare a state of emergency also for night show what's your take on the MTA and what's happening and I take public transportation and I'm sure you - absolutely and two points that you hit right there so MTA it's ridiculous what's going on everything when I started this campaign it's February there's a snowstorm you probably remember this is a train on Tremont a day after the snowstorm the steps weren't there's still snow people are falling and going to the hospital that that shows me that no one's really looking towards us and abroad no one's really prioritizing us in the Bronx so yeah the MTA has bigger issues and even right here locally we can't even get our step shoveled from snow let alone we have our commute it's an hour sometimes for us to get to work more than an hour if the trains shut down some of us are on the risk of losing our jobs not being able to pay for the bills not being able to put food on the table this is a human health crisis if we can't get our transportation system to work but you also bring up another thing that is a crisis in our community nature I go into some of these buildings and it is unhappy that's the law we need premises that are habitable it's there are windows that are broken windows that don't work there are doors that don't lock there are sinks that are broken there's mold in the apartment lead asbestos we we're trying to raise children and you call this public housing it's um who do they consider the public we're getting the nightshift project I think Bailey down here is that under our catchment area okay Daley colleges have you been there have you maybe I plan to go and meet people on door knocking and Bailey spoken with a lot of the the residents they're speaking with the tenant Association hearing them out a lot of what I hear going on at Bailey is look I'm a single mother with my child is now 16 years old we can't live in a studio apartment anymore and yeah you shouldn't you should be able to have your own bedroom as a 16 year old so when you go through the application process are we allocating our resources equitably who's getting access to the new apartments to the things that have construction and prepared typically we here at the Bronx who have been considered those at the bottom for too long we're not getting those resources okay so finally as a final note we know that if you're elected you're going to be fighting strong for this consumer for this community which means so much so one last final talk for yourself so you can let everybody know why vote for Randy yeah I would I would vote for Randy because the future of our Bronx is on line on September 12 the term for City Council is for years you the taxpayer pays your city council member 150,000 dollars a year to work for you so when you look at Kingsbridge armory and the development that's going on will we benefit when you look at your rome a veneer and the rezoning that's going to change our neighborhood will we benefit currently the way the proposals are set up especially on Jerome Avenue we're not looking to benefit and the council member we have right now is not going to do anything to change that on day one in the City Council I will call for a restructure of the Jerome Avenue rezoning to make sure our auto mechanics have a good job and a good place to go to make sure affordable housing really means affordable housing and make sure our landlord stops harassing our tenants okay so upcoming events we have next forum is win again well there will be a debate August 28th August 28th we're going to try to get this out so folks can come out and then second everybody to cut well there's another date right now the 18th voter registration anybody is that not register for the Democratic Party to vote so you could vote for Randy you have to go and you have to have your registration and postmarked by that day right absolutely and I think your staff here come down here to the office they'll come accept your cards they'll bring it to those big tickets it opposed up if they have to and also for voter registration you can register to vote online okay that's about three minutes to do it you can check our website upgrade for NYC that's a Braille fo r NYC's com there's a register to vote tab it'll take you straight there three minutes later you're registered with or last thing give you address to this organization here they could come by here and have the staff to explain to them if they have trouble and how to go online to do it what's your drug you it's ten West Kingsbridge Road right on the corner of Kingsbridge and Jerome off the four train and staff is welcoming we advise you on what's going on with the election but we've also taken the time to help people find housing we've also taken the time to help parents figure out how to get their kid into high school where I've taken the time to go to housing court with some of our tenants and I've taken the time to advise our immigrants on what's actually going on with Trump executive order okay okay so they're here they're here to serve you already he's doing the serving already hasn't he been in office yet so those dates are August 28th is the debate and brunch that the 18th of this month is going to be the voter registration and most importantly to come out a vote on September 12 for the primary thank you so much Randy Aubrey oh and I wish you so much luck and God bless and we hope that the 14th district here that we can have the best candidate that's possible and we can hope for the best Christ same here thank you so much man all right all right thank you internet of things stocks in india for money New York Theological Seminary.
