I'm going to talk to you about bullying in the workplace this video originates back to my previous video which was dyspraxia in the workplace dyspraxia is very closely related to autism so as you can imagine there is a lot of issues in the workplace of people with dyslexia but this video relates to absolutely anyone who's having bullying issues in the workplace it's also important to keep an eye out for people doing it to others around you so if you feel that one of your colleagues is a little bit uneasy when they come to work it may be a possibility that they receiving bullying from someone else within your workplace these kind of things can include constantly putting someone down for the work that they do only telling them off the issues instead of praising them so constantly saying you shouldn't be doing this you shouldn't be doing that rather than actually praising you for a lot of good things that you do obviously if you are just doing bad things then you're only gonna get told about those things but if you know that you're doing quite well in your job and they're only doing that that can associate with bullying the first course of action that you really need to take is to talk to this person individually yourself after all you can't fix a problem just by leaving it so the first thing to do would be to confront that person if you feel that you are able to if you don't feel comfortable with discussing it with that person the next person you need to talk to you is one of your managers and preferably at first your assistant manager and if you don't feel comfortable with that then your main head manager when being in with discussions with a lot of people who have said they've received bullying in the workplace has unfortunately been mostly from their managers this is quite upsetting because obviously a manager should be leading a team and making them all feel great and welcomed in that environment really that's quite a big thing because they're the main person but they are your go-to person if for example is the head manager of the store again the first person you would need to speak to would be your assistant manager and if it's the assistant majid and you go straight to the store manager if you don't feel that having that conversation with them went very well so you've spoken to them you how to sit down chat you've both explained what you're going to do to kind of improve the situation between you two if you don't feel like that has done anything then around your work area should be posters or some would call it work advice help at work that kind of thing and if you really don't feel that that's gone any further then contact Citizens Advice Bru they help with a large number of things they've helped me in the past and they can be very helpful if you have no further luck at work always try and fix the situation at your workplace the first thing that would happen when you speak to your assistant manager is you need to say to them hi I'm wonder if we can have a sit-down chat about an issue and you know you would then have a private chair if they don't want to make it private tell them that you want it to be private because that it's really important it will make you feel more comfortable there's nothing worse than having to explain something to someone and missing bits out you then want to explain to them in a very calm manner that you feel so pressured put on the spot in general you feel bullied by a certain person they should then explain what they want you to do and that they will then talk to someone else they may very well talk to them for you but they would probably prefer that you have a sit-down together with them there in case anything escalates that should hopefully fix any problem that you have but should it not then you would have to take it up to a store manager and say hi I've spoken to assistant manager we had a sit-down chat I don't feel that it's improved then again you will have another sit-down chat if you don't feel that that has fixed then your store manager should then have a chat with this person and it would possibly lead to a disciplinary which of course puts a note on their profile so that should be their kind of incentive to be nice to you that should be everyone's incentive in the first place but for some people it's just not say I apply as if it's your store or a system measure that is balloony you would then have to go to either your other managers or if it becomes a disciplinary for the store manager it would then go to the HR department which again you should have posters around your workplace because not everyone tends to know that number off by heart and if you don't have posters around your workplace that have numbers for that you can always email or talk to one of your assistant managers they should be able to offer that number for you oh that's something you can always look on Google most companies would happily have that up there just here's not many people really need to contact them unless you within the workplace if for whatever reason absolutely nothing comes from chatting to these people nothing is taken further then it definitely goes assistance advice but there is nothing worse than feeling pressured and bullied in your workplace your workplace you spend more time there than what you do anywhere else if you're full-time of course these are the people you see almost every day these are the people you have to work with and being in a situation that's just not nice is well not nice and you need to make sure that you are happy with everything that you do every day whether it's going to work coming home for work or getting up to go to work in the morning there's nothing worse than waking up in the morning to ask you have to go to work and I'm working with so-and-so coming home after a long day of being bullied is exhausting and then that reflects on the people around you so making sure that your work life is healthy is incredibly important regardless of whether or not you feel like it's a small thing or a big thing always talk to someone about it because something you might think is quite small and someone else might think is quite small as well but that's something that's getting to you and again like I said the workplace has to be one of the most important places that you go to because you're there so much of the time it's important to as well enjoy your work life this is something that you spend a lot of motivation on you spend all most of your fluorosis on it I do that has to be enjoyable absolutely do not tolerate any form of bullying and if you feel that someone you work with being bullied or is giving you kind of hints or displaying uncomfortable emotions in the workplace then have a chat with them or have a chat with the person that you feel is affecting them because there's nothing worse well then being someone who's bullied and feeling you're completely alone in that workplace like you just feel as if everyone else there is behind and against you because you don't know who's saying what to do and so on and that's just not healthy and it's not good for a team
