I'm very busy this semester I've been pushing myself to achieve more more than usual so you know it's a challenge I'm trying to challenge myself more than usual just to grow as a person apart from that you know I read a lot I go to a lot of bars hang out with friends hiking before the snow comes and yeah I spend a lot of time at home my girlfriend we cook a lot we you know not Lori Lori why this things like that I am now articles I'm 21 years old and I'm from Colombia and up from fourth year students of social communication and journalism and I'm actually doing an exchange program here in TR year so I will be just four four months here I love serious like my coffee it was serious and be with my boyfriend my family and my friends my name is Tommy I'm from Nigeria I'm 24 years old and I enjoy musical instruments and I play musical instruments and I like to swim as well my name is Paula case I come from El Salvador Central America I'm just currently studying my freshman year I hear you I'm just reading The Bachelor of Business Administration and I'm doing one years old I like playing soccer also partying and hanging out with new people I'm from Mexico I'm 21 years old I like traveling and my life languages when I first landed in Canada I landed in Vancouver and I've heard a lot about Canada as a whole and never pinyon myself but Vancouver was amazing the problem is though once I came to Kamloops it was in a very small flame so I already had my doubts about what this place was going to be anyway landed in the airport so how small it was how I secured it was there were maybe ten people at most so I had my doubts I got onto campus I was staying at the on-campus housing there much cheaper residence the prison cell and I remember walking into my room and I just thought like I can't do this so the first week for me was very eye-opening it was the international orientation and I met a lot of people I met some amazing people so that that eventually got me into the mindset that you know this is this is something new it is going to be scary but very possible so yeah I eventually you know I got I got very comfortable with this place and I really liked it I'm glad I came yes very it's a very interesting study environment it's so much quieter town as a whole so you can focus on your studies focus on yourself personal development things like that and also there's amazing people here I was really nervous coming here but that this thing happened to me and I learned it first in Calgary and there I met Robbie from The Bachelorette that is my favorite reality in the world and I was really happy really excited so I went after him and I just told him Robbie I love you I need to take a picture with you so I now have a picture with Ravi and since that moment I knew like exchange was going to be wonderful well actually I came in I came to campus in December and it was cold I was my first to experience so the weather shock was crazy was so cold then coming to TR you it's expected a bigger M campus and then I said oh it's actually about because most of the campuses in Nigeria quite quite big right so when I saw the conference was like oh okay it's not bad I get to meet people and get to know everybody basically my first week here at theory was definitely a challenge coming from from my house and now being by myself here it's definitely difficult to go by your own but I passed it there was actually a good experience it didn't have many friends here and the first day I came a group of really nice people and like fates of me and really good and very happy my first winter was terrible I was working door-to-door sales so it was very cold negative temperatures which I've never experienced before coming from Zimbabwe so it was a mental challenge as well as physical challenge my body was not ready for it so I was really under the expectation that Canada would be cold but when I got here was 30 degrees plus and he just flunked it down to the negative temperature so I think that was the biggest thing I remember in terms of reality and you know what I had thought the expectation callebs exceeded all my expectations I didn't expect anything coming here and looks except really cold and it's met my expectations but I think it's great I didn't actually expect anything coming here and I had a really good time this there's a lot of things I miss more than anything I miss the culture like I said I'm from Zimbabwe so I don't look like it just like we have discussed earlier but I'm more African than I am Indian I was born and raised there so you know the culture is very deep within me more than that though I miss Africa as a whole being being there is it's very different experience you you feel you feel the Sun on you you can you can smell you just it makes you feel alive so that's the biggest thing I miss the people in the culture and more than anything just my family and my boyfriend but of my country I miss all of the food like here you can eat delicious things and you can find wonderful ingredients but there is nothing as on the horizon an Ikea or an arepa another Schoology ah give me the food the food in Nigeria it's wonderful it's spicy nice it's really nice I miss the food so much definitely what I miss the most is food and family food that I can find from my country like Boozer and Turkey has the climate the warmth and the food well in Mexico it's so much warmer in here and I don't really like the Consul I'm dealing with it and the food well we have all sorts of spices and like really spicy food and like I can't find that here that's one thing I miss and I also miss my family and of course GRU specifically I really like the way the campus is set up its during the summer I would walk here every day after work and just you know Alice it's just a very visually appealing campus so North trees a lot of shrubbery lot of clients flowers so it's very peaceful you know just to walk around also be the courses themselves are also interesting being close to teachers being able to communicate with them one-on-one is something I find similar to high school in most bigger universities you don't have that chance so you know being here at EIU is it's something different I like that you have access to many things so for example you can go to the gym and have some free classes so I think that's wonderful and it's a really good opportunity so I go to circuit classes or to Zumba and that's something I can't do in Columbia oh I like the fact that you get to meet people and when you meet people you talk to them and gradually you become friends it's so easy to integrate with people and talk to people and then you meet someone here and they're like oh I like this person I want to talk more to this person and you easily can get friends here the people the friends I've met here and the diversity of people that yeah GRU Zhi hua Kanaka my god the theory of China new boss man cafeteria watch ing IO Japan Germany Colombia Bahamas Mexico India Ecuador Nigeria Pakistan zindabad capstone global library Herkimer County Community College.
