Article on internet privacy and security write for me west coast university capstone no issue reporting hey guys my name is Teddy and I'm a crane third you transfer at UCLA I'm making this video to kind of show you guys what I did don't get accepted to UCLA and UC Berkeley not once but twice and why I applied twice the story for a different video but I think that because I went through the application process twice it gives me kind of an expertise in it or maybe I was just extremely lucky by what I did worked and I want to share it with you guys so you as well can get accepted into this school that you want to go okay so one and the most important thing that you need to do is to make sure that you get all of you to read for fun and because prerequisites often different Chris campuses you might get a little bit confusing trying to figure out which classes you actually need to take prior to transferring so I would suggest you go to assistant org it's a website that I found extremely useful as a tool tool to figure out what classes they need to take I'm gonna show you guys real quick how to do it alright type up isis org in your browser and the first thing you're going to do is you're gonna choose the community college you're coming from and then you're going to select the university you want to transfer to next pick your major - psychology you're going to see all the prerequisites that you need to take before transferring right here on the left side are the classes offered by the university and on the right side are your community colleges equivalents in those classes so these are the curses you should look for in your class catalog and always make sure that what you're looking at is recent and this part is super and what you guys because if you are missing just one prerequisite you're going to be automatically rejected any doesn't matter if you have a 4.0 and super extra extracurriculars you are going to get rejected if you are not fulfilling all of the class requirements okay so now that we have done necessities out of the way let me share with you my number one tip in it for those of you who are probably just starting your community colleges because if you're graduating next semester this is kind of not going to help you because it's too late but um if you still have a chance go and join your Honors Program at your Community College not only will this give you the most experience with like rigorous classes that you're going to be expected to be able to do well when you transfer you will surround yourself with students who are like-minded who are driven kind of the same way and that you're going to form close relationships with your instructors and you're going to be able to ask them for help with your applications and the biggest takeaway from the honors program if it comes to applying to UCLA is that you will be able to get a priority consideration and during the gauging process if you complete all of the honors program requirements which in my community which in my Community College was 12 honors classes total that I had to pass in order to fulfill that requirement priority consideration is going to have been through the transfer Alliance program that is exclusive to UCLA campus but what I don't you see campuses have anything there are six of them I'm going to talk about it a little bit even though UCLA or UC Berkeley do not take part in it but I'm sure that those of you who are applying to these two you see they're also playing to the other you sees is that type of program so the transfer admission fee and you should read a little bit about it online at your Community College website or just google it because um that thing gets you into a university like this you just have to go fill all of the prerequisites if they tell you that you have to fulfill and you're automatically in they send you a letter saying that your attack has been approved you can apply for it and once it's approve this and you kind of like a contract that can be terminated if you don't fulfill the requirements but if you want to transfer you're gonna fulfill those requirements and as long as you do it your aim so I think the schools that participate in that tag aren't the UC Santa Cruz Santa Barbara Riverside Merced Irvine in Davis okay so my next step is about extracurriculars because I'm sure that you are aware of the fact that you definitely need to put that on your application and if you've done a lot of high school feel free to include that too but if you're like me they're really doing anything in high school so you want to max out your community college experience extract you're really at the Community College so make sure you join clubs make sure you're involved on campus but just know that you still aim UC Berkeley I'm producer or quality over quantity focus so them just go through a club Fair and train a bunch of clubs I know that when I was applying for a transfer I wondered what other people put in their applications when he came to extracurriculars so here are examples of what I had remember guys that you really don't need to fill out all the boxes as long as you can demonstrate that you actually care about something other than your grades and show come into just a few activities that's enough it's better for you to get involved in something that you care about and can grow from as a student and as a human being and stick to it rather than club hop every semester keep in mind that people come and go from community colleges pretty quick so there is a big club member turnover which makes it easier for you to be able to show initiative and get an Officer position since showing leadership is so important for universities make sure you take advantage of that also remember and everything counts here and not just clubs that is where you mentioned that you're an athlete I volunteer and mentor even if it's for your sibling and everyday translator for your parents what kind of jobs you had done lend me yourself main-care produces so they definitely wants to make sure that at the end of their reviewing it process your condition officer has like a clear picture of who you are or who you want to portray yourself to be so if there are any gaps make sure to explain them make sure that everything your application kind of like goes together you know and then they are not confused about anything at the end of it because with UCLA having over a hundred thousand people applying every year they're not going to call you up and ask hey I'm confused about what you wrote here you don't want that to happen so make sure you're very clear and cohesive with your application my next tip is that you do the paper groups UCLA has an amazing transfer community and I'm going to link it to Facebook page down below you should join it and if you have any questions you have you should go ahead and that's Ben same people will for sure respond and help you figure out whatever you're confused about I know they will because I've used it before I even transferred there and people are should be nice and help cool alright so that's it for this video I hope you guys found it useful and if you have any more questions ask me down below in the comments give it a thumbs up if you want some more videos I thank you for watching and I hope you have anything we I forgot to say subscribe so subscribe capstone fire management pay scale for money Stella and Charles Guttman Community College.
